Tirupur Industry Extends Full Support To
DyeChem World Exhibition
The DyeChem World Exhibition, in Tirupur, from June 3-5, 2022, evoked a lot of interest from the industry in and around Tirupur. The trade fair welcomed over 2000 visitors from various parts of Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka.
During the inauguration, Raja M. Shanmugham, President, Tirupur Exporters Association, spoke exclusively to Textile Excellence. He highlighted the `competition in unity’ philosophy which has led to the success of the world’s largest knitwear cluster. “The industry was the first to sincerely adopt zero discharge technologies and practices more than a decade ago. The momentum towards green, environmental practices and technologies continues, with a strong dependence on renewable energies, water saving, rainwater harvesting, tree plantations, and much more. DyeChem World Exhibition is a much-needed show in the region.”

Inaugurating the CEO Summit on June 4, the
Chief Guest, Kranthi Kumar Pati, Commissioner
– Tirupur City Municipal Corporation, spoke
about the industry’s proactive stance towards
the development of the knitwear cluster and
also the Tirupur corporation. “The industry has
been contributing towards various
infrastructure development initiatives. This is a
very dynamic industry, and can move much
faster with the right support. We will look into
the industry’s request for setting up a
convention centre for attracting bigger events
to this important cluster. We will continue to
support the industry in every possible way.”
The Chief Guest’s promise of a convention centre follows a request by Dr. A. Sakthivel, President, Federation of Indian Export Organisations for such a set-up in the corporation, to support better networking and knowledge exchange. Ahill Rathinasamy, President, Knit Cloth Manufacturers’ Association, and P. Moghan, Chairman, NIFTTEA College of Knitwear Fashion, were the special guests at the CEO Summit.

There was unanimous consensus within the industry that a show like DyeChem World is the need of
the hour as the textile and garment industry of Tirupur is set to expand exponentially. According to
Bhaskar Dutta, AVP – Sourcing, Jockey India, “Events like DyeChem World are much needed, as
textile manufacturers have to interact with chemicals and dyes suppliers very often. It’s a great
platform to know the latest that is happening in this segment.”

We have just launched our new range of bio-based products and this is an effective platform to showcase these developments to the country’s most dynamic textile and apparel cluster. There are some interesting developments happening in the textile dyes and chemicals segment worldwide, and events such as DyeChem World are much needed.”
Exhibitors have confirmed meeting good number of potential customers at the show, way beyond their expectations – an indication of the dynamism of the southern textile industry.
